Sample writing task
- You have just remembered that it is your mother’s
birthday today. You have tutorial lessons after school and
cannot go shopping. You ring your brother but his mobile
phone is switched off. Leave a message on his voice mail,
asking him to organise a small party and buy a present and
a cake for your mother tonight.
- Your favourite Arabic singer is having a concert in
Sydney. You ring your friend to invite him/her to come with
you to the concert, but he/she apologises and provides
reasons for doing so. Write the script of the conversation
that took place between the two of you.
- You hear that your best friend has said something unpleasant about you. You ring him/her to clarify the matter. Leave a message on the answering machine expressing how you feel about what is being said.
