Sample activity 2
As marks have not been allocated to the questions, the sample answers are given as a guide only. In the HSC Examination, there will be a mark next to each question to indicate the scope and depth required in the response.
Question 1
Mrs Wang’s concern is whether her daughter Xiaowen will be able to study Law at university.
Question 2
Xiaowen wants to become a teacher but her parents want her to study law at university. She has been slack in her school work lately as a protest against her mother’s ambition for her.
Question 3
- Mrs Li thinks that Xiaowen should take up a profession she enjoys.
- Mrs Wang opposes her daughter’s wish to become a teacher. She thinks that Xiaowen should work to the best of her ability to gain admission into the law faculty.
