Sample activity 1

This is a Part A type question. (4 marks)

You have arranged to go to the library of your suburb with your friend who does not know your suburb well. However you have an important appointment and can only meet your friend in the library. Leave your friend a message asking him/her to meet you in the library. Write in approximately 50 characters in Chinese.

The following is taken from the NSW Board of Studies Chinese Beginners 2008 HSC Specimen Examination Package.

You will be marked according to your ability to:

demonstrate relevance of ideas, information or opinion
write text appropriate to context, purpose and audience
sequence and structure information and ideas
demonstrate control of a range of vocabulary and language structures.
