- The topic is about Xiaohua, his family and his home.
- Xiaohua is 18 years old. He was born in Shanghai. He
migrated with his family to Sydney when he was three years
old. His father is a engineer, mother is a nurse. He has a
younger brother who is six years old. His grandmother
migrated from China and helps out by taking his brother to
school and cooks very nice Chinese dishes.
Xiaohua lives in a house with a park outside and a big
garden. It's two-storey with three bedrooms, toilet and
a study upstairs. The kitchen, lounge room and garage are
downstairs. He has to share a room with his younger brother
who is very naughty.
- Xiaohua wants to live in his own home because he has to
share a room with his younger brother who is very naughty
and every time he wants to do his homework, his younger
brother is noisy. He wants to have more freedom.
Sample task 4
In your answer, you should:
- use letter format
- tell your parents not to worry about you
- mention how far you live from your school (state how
you go to school, e.g. on foot/by bus)
- write about what time your school starts and finishes,
whether it is the same as your previous school
- tell your parents about your daily routine
- reassure your parents that you will look after
yourself.
