Summary of content
In this scene, Jinrong takes Shanshan to pay a visit to the Zhu family. Jinrong discusses her personal problems with Jiazhen. They talk as best friends about what Jinrong is going through. She is engaged in a lawsuit against her husband, and she also has to look after her daughter on her own as a single mother. To make things worse, her mother, Mrs Liang, who can hardly take care of herself, is coming back from America to live with her. Jiazhen and Jinrong compare Mr Zhu and Mrs Liang. They discuss their parents' capacity for future independence. In the meantime, Jianing draws a cartoon portrait of Lao Zhu and Shanshan wants to show this to Mr Zhu. Jiaqian keeps working on the computer in her room.
