When you analyse a prescribed work you can study it in context, making reference to social, historical and cultural influences on the work, and the choreographer’s background, experience and intentions. An analysis of this kind relies on research about the work.
You should also analyse the work by studying how the choreographer has used the language of dance to construct dance movement and communicate to an audience. An analysis of this kind will focus on the components of the work, and will include interpretation of the relationships constructed between components of the work, and the meanings communicated.
