How will the project be produced?
HSC Outcome H5.1: manages
the development of a quality major design project
The next stage will be to utilise the identified resources to
produce the Major Design Project.
This will require students to:
- formalise an action plan (based on the
timeline already developed). The plan should include details
of materials, tools and techniques required, the planned sequence
of the techniques to be used, when and where they will take place,
and the formal skill development and refinement required by the
student
- confirm materials needed to produce
the project, the sources of supply, cost comparisons and methods
of ordering and payment
- ensure that a safe working environment
is in place, especially if specialised materials are required
for a project. Students must also be familiar with, and document,
suitable safety practices required for the materials, tools and
techniques to be used
- carry out ongoing testing of design
solutions by conducting experiments and testing materials, tools
and techniques
- trial and refine production techniques
until the appropriate skill level has been attained
- evaluate solutions and justify design
modification as required
- carry out action plan to completion
of product, system or environment
- justify and document all decisions made
during the project
- keep a record of production with photographs,
where necessary.
