1. What are the key aspects of the play to be emphasised?
2. What is the main mood or atmosphere in the production?
3. Are you going to treat the text in a traditional, innovative, stylised or realistic way?
4. What text is to be cut?
5. How are the characters portrayed and developed?
6. What is the relationship between the design and the action?
7. What is the dominant theme, metaphor or convention that shapes the production?
8. How could the play be summed up in one or two sentences?
9. What other features will make this production unique?
10. What is the type of performance space envisaged for the production?
11. What is to be the actor-audience relationship?

Your answers must be justified by research. You will eventually write an all-encompassing concept statement, based on the responses to these questions.
