Future harvest: Environmental implications and marketplace trends

Environmental implications need to be considered when you are assessing the advantages and disadvantages of marketplace trends. These issues are examined in the option strand, Comtemporary food issues - Marketplace. Sometimes environmental issues can drive changes in the marketplace, such as the increase in the number of organic farms.

Outcomes
This material addresses aspects of the following syllabus outcomes:
H2.1 The student evaluates the relationship between food, its production, consumption, promotion and health.
H3.2 The student independently investigates contemporary food issues.

The Museum of Victoria has an interesting web site. In particular the museum has developed a number of case studies around the theme of sustainable farming or production.
