Saving Web Pages
Internet Explorer
- On the File menu, click Save As.
- Double-click the folder you want to save the page in.
- In the File name box, type a name for the page.
- In the Save as type box, select a file type.
To save a Web page only
- Click Web Page, HTML only
Note: This option saves the information on the Web page, but it does not save the graphics, sounds, or other files.
To save a Web page and its graphics
- Click Web Page, complete
Note: This option saves the information on the Web page plus all the graphics (pictures, images, icons) required to display the saved image exactly like the one from the Web. The size of the saved file is probably going to be bigger than the one from the option above.
To save just the text from the Web page
- Click Text Only
Note:This option saves the information on the Web page in straight text format.
Netscape Navigator
- On the File menu, click Save As or save Frame as (for pages with frames).
- Double-click the folder you want to save the page in.
- In the File name box, type a name for the page.
- In the Save as type box, select a file type.
To save a Web page in HTML format
- Click HTML files
Note: This option saves the information on the Web page, but it does not save the graphics, sounds, or other files.
To save just the text from the Web page
- Click Plain Text
Note:This option saves the information on the Web page in straight text format.
Saving graphics
Internet Explorer
- Right-click the image (on Mac OS, press and hold the mouse button) to display a pop-up menu.
- Choose Save picture as.
Note:The name of the picture will appear in File name followed by its "type" (e.g. .gif, .jpg, .tiff).
You can change the picture name if desired but do not change the picture type.
Netscape Navigator
Follow the instructions above.
Note: Instead of "save picture as" you will see Save image as.
