Creating an Enrolment Database

  1. Double Click on Microsoft Access and Click on Blank Database on the Right hand side of the screen. Save the database as Yr 6 into 7.mdb.

  2. Click here to save the file Year7_2006.xls to your my Documents folder.

  3. To import the File Year7(2006).xls go to the file menu and click File -> Get External Data -> Import

  4. To locate the file Year7(2006).xls. You will need to change the Files of type to Microsoft Excel.

  5. Click on file name and click Import.

  6. A wizard will pop up click on next.

  7. Check Fist Row Contains Column Headings then click Next.

  8. Make sure the In a New Table radio button is selected then click Next.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Make sure the Let Access add a primary key is elected then click Next.

  11. Name the Table Yr 6 into 7 and Click Finish.

  12. Double Click on the table.

  13. Click on Form and then Create form by using wizard.

  14. Select Table from drop box.

  15. Select all fields by clicking on this image015a  button

  16. Select Tabular layout then Click Next.

  17. Choose a layout style and then Click Next.

  18. Choose Modify the Form’s design then Click Finish.

  19. Using the Arrow tool from the toolbox, adjust the field headings so that they fit the page better. Close the Form design window, making sure you save any changes that you make.

  20. Double Click on the Yr 6 into 7 icon to view your completed form.
