Anti-discrimination The fair treatment of all people
Award Provides the terms and conditions of employment, including work hours, rates of pay and working conditions
Bullying Oppressing or persecuting physically or morally by threat of superior force
Code of conduct Describes the standards expected from employees when carrying out duties
Codes of practice Procedures for getting work done, often introduced to improve quality and productivity
Colleagues People who work with you
Communication The exchange of thoughts, messages or information by speech, signals, writing, or behaviour
Conflict resolution Strategies for solving disagreements in the work place
Duty of care Responsibilities aimed at preventing work-related illness and injury
Emergency procedures A series of steps taken when there is an urgent need for action or assistance
Employment contract An agreement between employer and employee to protect the rights of both in case of a dispute
Enterprise agreement A voluntarily negotiated agreement which sets out the minimum terms of employment applied to a specific task or workplace
Entitlements Rights to benefits given by law or contract
Equal employment opportunity (EEO) Workplaces that are fair to all people and do not discriminate against any individual or group
Harassment Any form of behaviour that humiliates, offends or intimidates another person
Job description An outline of the duties required in a particular job
Legislation Making of laws
Quality assurance A program for the systematic monitoring and evaluation of the various aspects of production to ensure that standards of quality are being met
Teamwork A group of people working together to achieve a goal
Work ethic A set of values based on the moral virtues of hard work and diligence
