Discrimination occurs when people are treated at work.
Harassment is any form of behaviour that humiliates, offends or anyone.
The NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1997 prohibits discrimination on these grounds:
· age
· (including pregnancy)
· Race, , ethnic or ethno religious background, descent or nationality
· marital status
· disability
· status including HIV/AIDS
· homosexuality
· transgender
· carer’s responsibility

There are two types of discrimination in the workplace:
· Direct - where a person is not employed because they belong to a particular group or category pf people.
· discrimination - where guidelines are set that only certain groups of people can meet the requirements.
